Shabbat Evening Services
Friday evening services are held throughout the year beginning at 6:30PM for approximately one hour. Beginning at 6:00PM we gather for appetizers and conversation. Our Shabbat services are led by our rabbis joined by a number of skilled and engaging lay individuals. (Calendar)
AAbsolute Shabbat
AA rocks at this monthly worship experience that combines music, study and introspection for purposes of connecting with God, creating community and exploring spirituality. Join with the rabbis and our musicians for an evening, carefully crafted to encourage people to meet each other while finding themselves and ultimately communing with God. The service is preceded by a reception and followed by a light dinner. The only requirement for attendance is your willingness to step out of your normal routine and into Shabbat, AAbsolutely. (Calendar)
AAbsolute Unplugged
This service is held each 2nd Friday of the month at 7:30PM, this is an opportunity to Unwind, to Understand, to Unplug from the ordinary in a new prayer experience, led by Michael Levine, Rabbi Laurence Rosenthal and Steve Grossman; followed by Shabbat dinner. (Calendar)
AAbsolutely 4kids

2nd Friday of each month. This is a spiritual experience that will be remembered by the entire family. AAbsolutely 4kids is a totally interactive program encouraging parents and children not just to sing, but to create the music themselves. Real drums and hand precessions change the all-too- often passive experience of prayer into a non-stop roller coaster ride of a service. Join Rabbi Laurence Rosenthal, Marcia Lindner and Michael Levine as we help our kids raise the roof of the AA building. Each service is preceded by a light dinner and Shabbat-friendly art project that is integrated into our Shabbat experience. Following every service we enjoy a popsicle social. Join us for “AAbsolutely 4kids – Shabbat with a Pop … and a Beat.” (Calendar)
Family Services
Family services take place the first Shabbat morning of the month at 10:45 AM. Children and their families participate together in tefillot and discussions about prayers and their meanings, the weekly parsha and other relevant Jewish material. Everyone is welcome. (Calendar)
Shabbat Morning Service
Our congregation offers a traditional Shabbat Morning service that begins at 9:00AM and concludes by 12:00PM. However we recognize that many people may not be prepared to attend an entire service of that length, and we have designed our morning worship as an a-la-carte offering.
While we welcome you to join us for the entire service, we want you to feel comfortable about arriving whenever you do so and about participating in the portion(s) of the service that enable you to have the Shabbat morning experience you seek.
The first hour of our service, Pesukei D’zimra, Shacharit and the beginning of the Torah Service are largely about individual and personal prayer. It’s a perfect time to go at your own pace and do what you choose to do. The second hour is the Torah Service. This is a time to listen to the Torah Reading and learn from the comments of our rabbis (or to go to the separate Torah Study session in a nearby conference room). The final hour includes the rabbi’s sermon, Torah Study discussion in the service, and communal worship as we offer the Musaf Amidah and conclude our service.
At noon we all re-group from our chosen locations for a relaxed opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Kiddush lunch and time to visit with each other. (Calendar)
Shabbat Morning Torah Study Session
Throughout most of the year we offer a weekly one-hour Shabbat Morning Torah Study session from 10:00AM–11:00AM in the Cavalier Room near our chapel. Most of the sessions are facilitated by congregant volunteers who lead lively discussions. To receive a weekly e-mail reminder, please send a note to Rabbi Neil Sandler.
Congregational Dinners
Throughout the year, our multi-generational synagogue family periodically comes together after Friday night services to celebrate, to schmooze and to eat … deliciously.
Alternative Shabbat Evening and Morning Experiences
Our congregation recognizes that when it comes to spiritual experiences and uplift, “one size does not fit all.” We offer a variety of other alternative Shabbat services and experiences throughout the year. Our Ritual Committee, with the support of our rabbis, is at the forefront of conceiving and developing these spiritual opportunities and would welcome your ideas and responses. (Calendar) Contact.
