Marcia Lindner

Director of Formal and Informal Education

Marcia Kaufman Lindner, Director of Formal and Informal Education, grew up in Atlanta as an active member of Ahavath Achim Congregation.  The combination of a being raised in a Jewishly committed family coupled with the influence of an incredibly gifted Youth Director and USY experience figured significantly in her decision to enter the Jewish communal profession.

Marcia is a graduate of Georgia State University where she majored in Social Work and Education.  She spent her junior year of undergraduate study in Jerusalem at The Hebrew University.  After completing her senior year internship at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, she focused on homelessness advocacy.

Marcia studied in a joint Master’s Degree Program at The Jewish Theological Seminary in Judaic Studies and Columbia University in Social Work.  Throughout her professional career, Marcia has worked in a variety of positions dedicated to enhancing the integrity of the Jewish family and Jewish life.  She served as the Director of Youth and Programming in Springfield, Massachusetts; Director of Student Programming, University of Georgia Hillel in Athens, Georgia; and as Social Worker and Judaic Specialist at The William Breman Jewish Home in Atlanta.

Marcia and her husband, Rick Lindner, are the proud parents of two young children, Hope and Seth. In 2005, Marcia was offered the opportunity to join the Ahavath Achim staff as the Director of Formal and Informal Education, where she is thrilled to have the opportunity to impact a new generation of Ahavath Achim youth and their families.
