Kehillah Kedosha... We have been hearing these words for quite some time from our rabbis and our congregation’s presidents. To create this holy community, we need to believe that we are important, that we count. I believe that every one of us counts, every one of us is necessary to make our community work and thrive. It doesn’t matter what you contribute to help build community. It only matters that you do. Whether you volunteer to help with Religious School Shalach Manot distribution or attend Sisterhood programs, everything you do counts and helps. Some of us can only support Sisterhood and our synagogue by paying dues, not attending functions. That’s okay. Some of us can only volunteer our time by stuffing envelopes or helping organize events. That’s okay. Everything that you do is important and counts. Some women have told me that Sisterhood doesn’t have anything that interests them. I hear what you are saying, but I really don’t understand. We offer so many diverse things in and out of our synagogue that I feel sure there is one thing that might catch your interest. Getting involved in just one thing could be an opening to involvement that you never imagined. We have Book Club, Sisterhood Shabbat, Z'havah study group for Shavuot, Mah Jongg, Artists’ Market, volunteering for the Women’s Shelter and wellness programs. If none of that interests you, then call me up and tell me what would be something to entice you to come. We need your input, your interest. We need you. And if you truly don’t have the time in your busy schedule, then support your sisterhood with your membership. The $36 goes a long way both on a local and national level with Women’s League. Kehillah Kedosha. Join with sisterhood to help us grow our holy community of caring and involvement.
Z'havah | Not Your Mother or Grandmother’s Sisterhood! Please join us as we develop the young women’s initiative of the AA Sisterhood. Become a part of this special interest group of women ranging in their 20’s to 40’s who are looking to share common interests. We will celebrate our Jewish identities through programming and fun. We have outlined a series of programs which will focus on social, educational, social action, and family events.
